I Admit I am Powerless Over Pasta

Is there a 12-step program for me?
I have been a pastaholic these last few weekends.
Last night, for Andy and his son Matt, I made fresh fettucine with cracked black peppercorns incorporated into the dough. And if that's not naughty enough, I tossed it in a decadent sauce of heavy cream, ricotta, parmesan, and stilton. Threw in a few peas for the English guys, of course.

I almost feel as if I need to go to church today to repent. I think I'll take a 5-mile walk instead.

And I did take that 5-mile walk. Unfortunately, it probably only made a dent in the plate of pasta. The Devil made me eat it, you see.

Looks awesome. If you ever want to leave fresh pasta at my doorstep I will call you the pasta fairy.

Now I know what you'll get for a housewarming gift!

What is stilton? And why do the Brits like peas in their pasta? It just seems wrong to me.

Hi! Robyn, stilton is a really strong cheese. Some might say stinky. But I bet in a cream sauce it has a nice flavor...

I like peas. And recently started cooking them with edamame(soy beans). I add a little olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. It's low fat, high fiber and high protein. Not too shabby.

Robyn, stilton is a type of blue cheese. I know you like bleu cheese salad dressing, so I think you'd like this sauce. The stilton is an accent, not the main ingredient. The parm and ricotta balance the intensity of the stilton.

Debra, I have never cooked edamame. Is it like cooking peas? Do you buy it frozen?

Hi Janine,

Yep, I use frozen peas and frozen edamame...I know Ukrops has 'em but I bet Kroger would carry them too. Not too fure if Food Lion would have them.

I LOVE blue cheese...but I do think it is kind of stinky. That's why I said stilton might also be to some folks. As opposed to your milder cheeses like mozzerella, etc. I love me some cheese.

I love Edamame and us it often- hot and cold. And, although I love Blue Cheese - I can't stomach stilton. I like strong cheese but I just don't like the taste of that particular blue.
I Just figured you were all sitting around wondering what I was thinking about it! like W.W.JB D.? haha

and to comment on the pasta thing. I LOVE pasta so much, that I think getting a pasta maker would be a dangerous thing. Too much temptation. :-)

At one of the company Christmas parties held at Barksdale(First Market Bank, maybe?) during "Moonlight and Magnolias", the caterer had a wheel of smoked stilton. I saved him the trouble of packing it up.
