Facebook. I don't get it.

Ages ago, and for some reason I truly can't recall, I signed up for Facebook. Now the Facebook people won't leave me alone.

I get all these emails from people who want to be friends with me. Most of these emails come from people whom I already thought I was friends with. Then I have to go to the Facebook place, sign in and say that, yes, I will be friends with So-and-So. I guess I'm wondering why So-and-So can't just email me directly to confirm our friendship, which I thought had been previously established anyway. It's all very confusing.

I also get things that say "Mr. So-and-So thinks that you and Miss Thus-and-Such should be friends." Excuse me? I am very adept at picking my own friends. Besides, maybe I have a very good reason for avoiding Miss Thus-and-Such. Maybe she annoys me.

And then the other day I got one that said "Miss Whatsy-Whoosit wrote something on your wall." Then the email proceeds to tell me what she wrote on my wall. So why bother with the wall? if you're going to telescope it to me in the email? Plus, I went to Facebook and can't even find my own wall. Somebody please tell me how to find my wall.

Yes, I know I sound like Andy Rooney with this rant. I promise you I say all this with a smile. But I'm also going to take my Facebook thing down, if I can figure out how to do it!

Awww, but it's so easy to keep up with everyone on Facebook. Some of the "applications" can be annoying for sure, but I just say no to what I don't want to bother with. It's not for everyone.

Oh I am so glad I am not alone! I honestly feel retarded at times. I signed up because someone told me I should for Henley Street (and it is good for getting the word out about things - granted.) Well, I don't understand how it all works. It's just in the past week that I was told me how to shut off the e-mail function (you have to do it for each feature...like the wall, add friends, etc.) But there is still so much I don't get. I need to have a young person give me a damn lesson!

The shocking thing was discovering that everything I wrote on someone else’s wall would show up on everyone's Facebook. I think I turned that off...but I have no idea. I am just really careful about what I say.

It's a wild thing!

It is a timesuck for sure! When I should be doing something I log on to find that such and such is sleepy, or whosiewhats wants nacho's. But, as I say this, please note that I've just logged on to see what was going on in the facebook world. I guess it's a harmless diversion!
Now, onto a reply about your previous pesto post! When Eric got home last night, he figured out how to put the food processor together. Yay! Now, I swear to you, it shall be my new favorite kitchen device. Who knew? (I'm sure everyone!)
Anyway, my pesto didn't turn out as green as yours...clearly you used more basil, but MOTHER OF GAWD doesn't BEGIN to describe it! I actually licked the bowl. You'd have thought I was making a chocolate cake.
I don't eat much pasta, so I put a dollop on top of grilled chicken. It was HEAVENLY!! I even had a couple of spoonfuls right from the food processor bowl!
Eric liked it too. That's saying something. He's not exactly prehistoric when it comes to food, but he's definitely a meat and potatoes kind of guy, with few experiments in between. He does fall short of dragging me around by the hair...unless I give him permission...wink! wink!
So, that he tried and LIKED pesto last night and gazpacho a week ago...that's a big leap. Keep the recipe's comin'!!

I heart Facebook. You just have to know your way around and ignore some things. I will tell you some things about it if we ever make it to HH.
